Prevention Time supports AIDS prevention and youth development in South Africa, using Biblica’s Reach4Life New Testament© which contains 42 Bible lessons. The focus is in South Africa, the country with the highest percentage of HIV infected people in the world. Work is being done in three areas – urban Soweto (suburb of Johannesburg), rural KwaZulu-Natal, and in Durban and surrounding villages. The goal is for the next generation to avoid catching the virus before they get infected. This is dependent on behavior change, which is only possible through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Prevention Time works solely with the indigenous people who know the language and culture and are already a part of the community. Young Christian adults from local churches are selected and trained to teach how to avoid the virus and encourage commitment to Christ.
