WHAT WE BELIEVE! |
|
| Highline Christian Church is independent and non-denominational. We seek to be a church patterned after the New Testament. Here are some of our beliefs: | |
|
● |
There is one God who exists in three
persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit . (Matt. 28:19) |
| ● | Jesus Christ was God's Son, lived without sin,
died on the cross for human sins, was raised from the dead, and is
coming again. (Heb. 4:15, 1 Cor. 15:3-4, John 14:3) |
| ● | The Bible is the inspired Word of God
and is authoritative for all matters of Christian faith and
practice. (2 Tim. 3:16-17) |
| ● | All humans have sinned and deserve
the punishment of eternal death. (Rom. 3:23; 6:23) |
| ● | Salvation from the penalty of death
is made possible to humans through the atoning death of Jesus.
That is, He bears the penalty of our sins. (Rom. 5:8-9) |
| ● | We cannot earn salvation. It is
a gift of God offered to those who believe in Jesus Christ. (Eph. 2:8-9) |
| ● | We respond to God's love by faith,
repentance, and baptism. Baptism is immersion in water of a
professed believer in Christ. (Acts 2:38; 16:31) |
| ● | The Christian believer is endowed
with the Holy Spirit for guidance, comfort, and assistance in
prayer. (Eph. 1:13-14, Rom. 8:26) |
| ● | The Church is a fellowship of
Christian believers, the body of Christ. (1 Cor. 12:27) |
| ● | Christians have the privilege of
approaching God in prayer, believing that He hears and answers. (Eph. 6:18, Jas. 5:16) |
